- Open-air ballpark. Home plate faces roughly northeast with the Center City skyline visible beyond the outfield. The park has a two-deck seating bowl, a lively outfield with Ashburn Alley behind the batter's eye, and the Liberty Bell home-run marker in right-center.
Neighborhood
In the South Philadelphia Sports Complex about four miles south of Center City, sharing the campus with the NFL, NBA, and NHL venues clustered around it. This is a stadium-district ballpark ringed by parking and served by its own subway stop, not a walkable neighborhood park; the pre-game scene lives in the lots and the complex bars.
What it feels like

The crowd is knowledgeable and intense, the outfield concourse at Ashburn Alley is a destination in itself, and the atmosphere on a big series ranks among the best in the sport. Set in the sports complex, the day runs on tailgating in the lots and a short subway or walk between the parking and the gates. The bowl holds noise well and the fans make sure it does.

Food and pre-game outside
No walkable restaurant neighborhood; the pre-game food scene is the tailgate lots and the complex's own bars. Eat in the lots or downtown before you come south.
Accessibility
