Orientation
Indoor arena. The home pro basketball team and the home pro hockey team share the building. Both have decades of fan history that defines the building's tone.

Neighborhood

The South Philadelphia sports complex, the same parking-lot district that hosts the football and pro baseball venues. The setting is surface lots, highways, and the immediate trio of big venues; downtown Philadelphia is a 10-minute drive or a 15-minute subway ride north.

What it feels like

A loud, opinionated home crowd with one of the most vocal fanbases in either league. The bowl is among the steepest in the league, which means the upper deck feels close to the floor or ice, and the noise stays in the building. The recent renovation widened concourses and modernized the food program but kept the bowl's tight geometry.

Seating tiers

Lower bowl (100s)

Rows 1-20

Closest to the floor or ice. Steep pitch keeps the back of the lower bowl close. Premium pricing.

Club / mezzanine (200s)

Recently renovated club tier with bar, indoor concourse, and table-service food. Best comfort-and-sightline balance.

Upper bowl (200-tier upper)

Rows 1-19

Steep upper bowl. The arena is famous for how close the cheap seats feel; sightlines are strong from almost every row.

Sections we'd pick

  • Lower bowl 106-109 mid-court / center-ice for premium sightlines
  • Upper bowl 209-212 mid-court / center-ice for the best price-to-sightline ratio in the building
  • Club 218-221 for renovated amenities with a strong angle

Sections we'd skip

  • Lower bowl behind-the-basket rows 1-3, where the rim cuts the view
  • Upper bowl corners above row 16, where the angle turns shallow

Arrival

Primary route
I-95 to the Broad Street exit, or I-76 from the west. Game-day parking traffic in the sports complex backs up 60-90 minutes pre-event.
Rail / transit
SEPTA Broad Street Line ends at NRG, the dedicated stop for the sports complex. About 10 minutes from City Hall. By far the easiest arrival mode from Center City.
Rideshare
Designated lots on the east side. Walking five minutes north toward Pattison Avenue trims wait time post-event.
Parking
12,000 spots across 14 lots , median $35 . Prepay recommended.
Walk to gates
~6 minutes (median)
Notes
Tailgating in some lots before pro hockey games. Most fans either drive into the complex or take the Broad Street Line.

Weather and timing

Roof

Indoor

Climate controlled. Philadelphia winter outside is cold and often wet; once inside, weather doesn't matter.

Food inside

Philadelphia food classics done well. Cheesesteaks (multiple stands, including local-brand collaborations), pretzels, hoagies, and Tastykakes. The renovated concourse added smashburger and Korean fried-chicken counters that draw lines.

Food and pre-game outside

The sports complex itself has limited walk-up options outside the venues, but Xfinity Live across the parking lot is a high-volume bar-and-grill that opens hours before tip-off or puck drop. Center City restaurants are a 10-15 minute drive or a quick Broad Street Line ride north.

Accessibility

ADA seating with companion seats in every level. Sensory rooms available; reserve through guest services. Accessible parking near every gate.

Worth knowing before you go

  • The home crowd is genuinely loud; sit in the upper bowl for a marquee opponent for the full effect.
  • The 2024 renovation widened concourses but kept the steep bowl; sightlines did not change.
  • Broad Street Line from Center City is faster than driving for any 7pm tipoff or puck drop.
  • Mobile-pay throughout.
  • Xfinity Live next door is the de facto pre-event tailgate; arrive 90+ minutes early to enjoy it.
